Technical Instructions

  1. System requirements
    1. Web Browser
      Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater
      Netscape 6.0 or greater
Other web browsers which support DOM and CSS2 should also be compatible.
    2. Settings
Requires JavaScript to be enabled. Most web browsers install with JavaScript enabled by default. If you must re-enable JavaScript, look in the "Internet Settings" for Internet Explorer or "Preferences" for Netscape.
  2. How to use
    1. About the working area
The working area is located in the centre of the screen, and is dominated by the floor plan graphic. You can plan a Reception Centre by placing objects on top of the floor plan.
      CAUTION:
      Refreshing
or reloading the page will delete all the objects.
    2. Choosing a floor plan
Click the desired floor plan icon under the heading "Choose Floor Plan". The new floor plan will replace the old one that appears in the large working area in the middle of the screen. You can change the floor plan any time without altering other elements.
    3. Creating objects
Pre-defined objects under the following headings can be created for the Reception Centre plan:
      • "Define an Area" - used to define a functional area in the plan
      • "Drag and Drop Icons" - used to graphically label the area
Hold down the left mouse button on top of a shape or icon, drag it to the desired location, and release the mouse button to place the area.
You can create a custom text label by typing in the field marked "Type here", and then pressing the "New text label" button. The new text label item will appear in the bottom right corner of the working area. This label can then be dragged to the location desired.
    4. Moving objects
Area, icon and text label objects can be moved. Hold down the left mouse button on top of a shape, icon or text label, drag it to the desired location, and release the mouse button to place the area.
    5. Deleting objects
Area, icon and text label objects can be deleted. Hold down the left mouse button on object, drag the mouse until it is on top of the "Delete Object" box, and release the mouse button to delete the selected object.
  3. Using the output

  4. Note: The plan you create can not be saved for editing later, and the plan will disappear permanently if the page is refreshed or reloaded.
    1. Printing
The plan is printable at any time during the planning process.
    2. Exporting
The plan you create can be exported in an image format by using the screen capture or print screen capability on your computer. In windows, copy the current window by pressing ALT and PRINT SCREEN on the keyboard. You can then paste the image into a Microsoft Word document.
